Woods Hole Summer evening of Science

Location : David Center on Quisset Campus, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

Event date: Friday, July 25, 2025

Event Time: likely 4:00-7:00pm (Car set up TBD)

Note: Food and beverage provided

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) has invited the Cape Cod Porsche Gruppe to our Member Evening of Science Event! The theme is Vessels and Vehicles and will showcase the history/evolution-of-sorts of engineering equipment, instruments, and robots used to study the ocean and invented at WHOI. We also want to pair these inventions with a curated collection of CCPG member Porsche cars, marrying history with engineering, form, function & design.

We have established a Special Porsche Group price of $40 per individual/ $60 per couple which includes a year membership to WHOI at the Ocean Navigator Level. Benefits include 15% off on all WHOI merchandise, an annual subscription to Oceanus, WHOI’s membership magazine, WHOI member T-shirt.

(Regular WHOI membership rate is $50 per individual or $75 per couple)

Founded in 1930, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole has a history of exploration, technological innovation, and discovery. It is the world’s largest independent organization dedicated exclusively to ocean research, engineering, and education. The discoveries made by WHOI’s scientists and engineers have contributed to improving our environment, commerce, health, national security, quality of life, and inventions have revolutionized the way we study and explore the oceans.

The evening will take place on WHOI’s Quissett campus in the George and Wendy David Center for Ocean Innovation, where there will be stations for Porsche and WHOI members and their guests to explore and interact with WHOI scientists and engineers and car owners along with short lighting talks about select oceanographic instruments/equipment and cars.

This is a really fun way to explore science and engineering – and learn and tell great stories and geek out with fantastic people.

Please mark your calendar if interested, and details on how to sign up, enter cars, etc. will be forthcoming

Thanks,

CCPG Board
