Recommendation for radio service

From Richard E. Boyatzis reb2@case.edu

I have a 2000 911. The original radio stopped working when my battery went dead. Mark Hayes had recommended Bruce Stewart at High Performance Audio, but they are out of business with no forwarding information. I live in Eastham and do not want to return to the dealer in Norwell.

Any recommendations as to where I can go?

Thank you,

Richard

You need to get the radio code from any Porsche dealer to reset the radio after the battery died. Your radio is not broken

South Shore Auto Works in Kingston. It’s closer than Norwell and cheaper. Porsche mechanics from Norwell work there.  Bill Finnegan    36 Blueberry Pond Dr.  Brewster, Ma. 02631         508-247-7807 “Only a Porsche inspires driving with no destination”

I had a 997.1 that had a short in the radio. I had it pulled by local
mechanic and sent it to Becker Radio in N.J. and in addition to having
them fix it, they had capability to add bluetooth module (for streaming
    – not for phone calls). They did a good job and know their stuff.

All you need, maybe, is the code. When I bought my 1999 211 it was written on the driver’s sun visor. There was also a plastic card in the owner’s manual.

South Shore always refers people to Sound in Motion, they’re great but in Boston.

It’s probably some sort of reset needed. Doubt the battery going dead would fry the radio. My guess is a dealer or maybe south shore auto. Mark didn’t have the computer software to do this.
